San Diego City College Impact of Policy Change on Manufacturing Discussion

San Diego City College Impact of Policy Change on Manufacturing Discussion

Question Description

I’m working on a management discussion question and need a sample draft to help me understand better.

IMPACT OF POLICY CHANGES ON MANUFACTURING, IMPORTING AND EXPORTING AND CONSUMER PRICES IN THE UNITED STATES (45 POINTS)

Policy changes both at home and abroad can have major impacts on the price of goods in the United States, the demand for our products abroad, the supply and price of goods we generally import from outside the US and employment rates. Additionally, we sometimes see a ripple effect when one country makes a policy change in the name of saving jobs and other countries retaliate with similar or even more extreme policy changes. Additionally, there have been many challenges faced by manufacturers due to the Coronavirus. This has been especially true during the past 12 months.

For this discussion, you are tasked with finding an article or television segment discussing either a US or foreign policy change that is having some type of impact on the manufacturing process, price of goods and employment rates in the US. I am going to ask that you only look at this discussion in terms of policy and not through the often-divisive lens of politics. Please copy and paste your article into the discussion forum or the link if it is a television segment. If you are using a video, please summarize the segment in addition to including the link. You will then need to summarize what the policy is that is being discussed and how it is impacting manufacturing in this country. Again, I am expecting you focus on the facts of the policy only and how it is impacting manufacturing, sales of US goods (both home and abroad), prices we are paying for imported goods, and employment. I would also like you to discuss what you believe the future impacts of your selected policy. I expect unbiased and respectful posts in this discussion. Anything less will result in the post being deleted and a zero grade on this assignment.

There is so much rich information and change out there as a direct result of Covid-19 that you should have no problem finding relevant and interesting information to use completing this discussion.

This discussion will be open starting May 12th and is due May 24th. I encourage you to read your fellow students posts so that you are as informed as possible. Remember that corporations have a primary goal to make a profit. As managers you will often be asked to prepare a summary of the impacts policy changes will have on the bottom line of the company. As such, it is imperative that you remain aware of economic changes that are coming down the pipeline as they will impact your future job prospects and possibly even your salary.

You are not allowed to post on the same article as one of your fellow students. Again, first come, first serve. However, you may do a different article on the same subject.
