Good evening Everyone,
I have selected the Lego company to write about in this discussion. The social responsibility covers a wide range for Lego. With children representing their main target demographic. The company’s main goal for children is their, learning to play initiative. Which helps kids develop skills that will help them tackle the challenges that lie ahead. Their goal is to bring learning through play to eight million kids per year by 2022. Having a environmental ear to the ground the company is embarking on a challenging mission before us is to make all core LEGO products from sustainable materials by 2030. Their packaging is another mission that they aim by 2025, all LEGO packaging will be made from renewable or recycled materials. Their corporate environment is something they take pride in when it comes to being inclusive, motivating, and safe. As well as creating a responsible place for their employees to work in. The company isn’t just holding itself and its employees to a high standard of ethical conduct. Any suppliers and partners must adhere to our responsible business principles. This 360 degree coverage on ethics makes the company stand out in the business world as well as the communities they are involved with helping and developing the best option for success.
There are many variations of ways that a company can demonstrate social responsibility, ethical behavior, and good corporate/community citizenship. Actually, making it happen takes the company and puts in a light that shows people they don’t mess around. A company like Lego, sets the tone with the youngest of generations and aims to help them out now and set them up for success in the future. All while setting their employees up for the same continued success. The next time you see Lego’s you might think of them a little differently knowing they are a sound and just company looking to make a positive impact in the world.
Cheers. Andy.

There are a few ways that I believe a company should demonstrate social responsibility, ethical behavior, and good corporate/community citizenship. One of the ways is that the company should be promoting to its customers positivity. Some companies do not flat out say that people should look a certain way but the way that they advertise speaks volumes to what they mean and actually think. This kind of negativity could have a negative impact on its customers especially the younger generation customers. When it comes to ethical behavior, a company should do what is right for the people and the planet and not just to make the most profit even when it means harming human beings and the planet. When companies don’t have this in mind and they choose profit over ethical decisions it says a lot about the people in charge of the company. Good corporate/community citizenship, in my eyes, is a company that is involved with their community and the people that live in it.
A company that I feel follows my thoughts in these areas is Patagonia. There are a number of ways that this company is surpasses expectations in all three of these categories all while making a profit. Small and large businesses should aim to emulate Patagonia because of how much the company cares about the planet, the social issues that are being addressed every year, as well as supporting communities all around the world.
