Hi, please reply to the following DQ’s with 150-200 words. Thank you
Effective communication is of the utmost importance when delivering healthcare. Without it, interprofessional teams and the delivery of safe patient care would not be. There are multiple components to effective communication in a healthcare setting, such as healthcare literacy, cultural competency, and language barriers. If any of these components is compromised, effective communication does not occur. Open and transparent communication is critical for the effective functioning of the interprofessional team, and communication technologies can enhance the process. Communication systems promote interaction among healthcare providers and patients. Some communication systems include call lights, wireless cellphones, pagers, email, and instant messaging. For this assignment, I will discuss the Voalte communication system. This device has the latest technology, including calling features, messaging, email, and an app for doing medications. Voalte mobile applications connect care teams, no matter where they are, improve care coordination, keep caregivers informed and accelerate treatment to speed patient recovery. From this communication system, healthcare professionals such as nurses can use it to administer medications as well. It can scan the patient’s barcode, making it more user-friendly for nurses. I am currently using this device to communicate with my other healthcare members during my hours at work.

Interprofessional communication is essential for quality-team-based care, and its findings prove that communication reduces mistakes and negative outcomes. Face-to-face and technological communication, such as electronic messaging, telephone, and video conferencing, also are significant in healthcare fields. As communications become more limited, so do data collections that affect patient prognosis. The interprofessional communication method that uses smartphones and electronic messages between nurses and physicians has shown different results and outcomes in inpatient care (Shrader et al.,2016). Interprofessional communication improves interprofessional care plans. The use of technology helps interprofessional education and removes common barriers arising from the progression of care. Through the implementation of EHR, communication has improved amongst providers and patients. The physician reported the value of sharing patient-centered data with the patient using an EHR system and collaborating with other teams to enhance interprofessional communication (Hsi, A., 202). It is very effective for patient care. Clinicians reported that when they communicate through EHR between patients and providers, it helps prevent mistakes and enhance clarification of information and provide care on time without waiting.

Healthcare organization has been made a lot of changes and improvements over a decade and due to these existing changes, we are not shifting to focus more on the quality and delivery of care, patient’s satisfaction, the value of care being rendered to the individual, and also focus as a whole and wellbeing of the individual and family.
Collaboration is an existing tool to collect data of diverse knowledge and competent individual that involves sharing of skills, knowledge, and experiences from their scope of practice to intensify the delivery of extensive plan of care that involves patients and families with the decision making to provide high-quality care and improve the outcome of patient’s health and wellbeing. The interprofessional team identifies the same purpose, the same goal with effective communication and clinical competence and accountability, and responsibility. Important aspects of collaboration are mutual respect, appreciation, recognition of competence, and diversity which are valuable in the delivery of safe practice.
The first goal in choosing from the interprofessional communication skills is to widen and strengthen communication skills with healthcare workers, patients, family, that can be understood in an easy and acceptable way. The main thing is it is very crucial not to have misunderstandings that result in decreasing patient satisfaction, unagreeable plan of care ad poor outcome. The second goal is to widen the team-based practice that provides strategies to incorporate the individual involved in the patient care such as family, providers, caregivers, and healthcare workers. And this evidence-based collaboration as a team can help the individual express their concerns and point of view to make the best with open communication.
Challenges that may arise that inhibit collaboration include lack of knowledge, misunderstanding, the limited amount of time, miscommunication, distrust, limited responsibility. Effective communication tools in promoting effective teamwork include establishing good communication, rapport, respect for diverse ethics, values, competence, transparency, and shared similar goal and that is to achieve quality care. Both healthcare providers and patients expressed dilemma with the transition to electronic medical records as too much information and overwhelming information as soon as the chart opens up and alarm fatigue but it has been the main safety concern in the healthcare organization.
Effective clear communication is the key component in providing holistic care. Poor communication can lead to poor patient outcomes and increased length of stay. The use of communication technology can nurture a sense of connection, working as a team, and harmonizing the workflow as a team. There is Five best practice for communication technology: A) The use of two-way communication, such as overhead paging the doctors, other ancillary departments during code situation to alarming the other healthcare workers. B) To make connections easy in which nurses are able to adapt to new regulations, new treatments, and new patients’ needs and wants. Healthcare workers are able to adapt easily if they are being implemented and introduced such as fax, email, page, text, and now healthcare organization started utilizing Everbridge for communication. C), working as a team with clinical communication and collaboration tools in which healthcare organization is now implementing a daily huddle between the house supervisors and the charge nurses to work more effectively as a team. Another way is to deliver messages within the department is by daily huddles between the charge nurses and the staff. D), mobilize the right resources in which healthcare workers use a secured mobile device like Spectralink to communicate with other departments such as environmental services to clean the room and transportation without roaming around the hospital and look for them. This will save time and effort. And lastly, ensuring ongoing support in which applies to 24/7/365 days technical support available for all the healthcare workers and ancillary departments to ease the burden of the computer is not working or having technical difficulties.
