I’m working on a writing question and need an explanation to help me learn.
This is the Children’s Music Artist/ Performer Activity—-Group Activity
This will consist of 4-5 students working together to review a children’s music artist.
As a group you will decide if you will all work on the questions/ assignment together or will you break up the questions/ assignment to individuals and communicate what you each found as answers to the questions.
The first 6 questions are worth 15 points total. The last question (#7) is an in class sharing as a group due on May 20th or May 25th depending on when your group signs up to present. It is worth 5 points total. So a total of 20 points for the entire assignment. Make sure you answer all of the questions and give a lot of details…
Here are the expectations:
1. Choose a children’s music performer or artist. It can be an individual or a group. In what ways is this person or group a quality and effective artist for young children? Worth 2 points
2. Provide a brief biography of the artist or group, including educational background, how long they’ve been performing, etc. Why did they choose to perform for children? Worth 3 points
3. Describe the type of music involved: description of music style, content. etc. Possible examples: original material, movement emphasis, folk songs, classics, toddlers, instrumental, etc. Worth 3 points
4. List at least 5 of their CD’s with title and over all description of the type of songs included. You do not have to name all of the songs but you should listen to the entire CD’s and describe the over all type of music. Worth 3 points
5. If available, provide the URL for the performer’s webpage. Why did you choose this particular artist or group?

6. Choose 2 songs and state how you would use them with children? Special Needs/ Inclusion: State a specific need and state how you will include this child in your activity. Worth 2 points
7. IN CLASS SHARING: choose your two favorite songs by this performer and play them in class.
a. For one of the songs, you will sing, plan and present a movement activity that goes with the song. How will you include a child with special needs? Worth 3 points
b. How does this song and movement activity enhance the development of the children: brain development, perceptual motor skills, social development, language development, science concepts, etc? Worth 2 points
