Models of Development in Children and Adolescents

For this Assignment, you will select one of the Unit 3 Case Studies and write an essay to compare and contrast your selected case against two models of development (psychological, psychodynamic, behavioral, cognitive, humanistic, family, or sociocultural).

Please address each of the following:

• Using your own words, summarize the case you have selected, noting the developmental milestone and characteristics of concerning behavior leading to a development disorder within the case.
• Discuss the benefits of applying developmental models to the case in the human service profession.
• Identify and summarize two models of development, describing the key characteristics of each model. Include typical developmental milestones and developmental disorders for each model.
• Compare and contrast both models selected, identifying and discussing three similarities and three differences between the models. Be sure to cite specific examples for each.
• Based on the information you provided, conclude by selecting your preferred model of development and describe why you would use this approach in your profession.
