1. The aspect of privacy of personal information in modern computer environments can raise legal and ethical issues.
(a)Differentiate between different types of encryption, depending on the communication layer in which they operate. Analyse which of these types might be likely to raise ethical considerations and under what circumstances
(b)Mobile contact-tracing apps may use Bluetooth links in order to detect and report close encounters of mobile phone users in the physical world, with the aim of limiting the spread of infections as is currently the case with the coronavirus. A key ethical question is whether such systems, in particular their aspects of security and privacy, are creating legal or ethical concerns.
(i)What might be the opinion of official government agencies, such as the Department of Health and Social Care, and what might be their arguments? Include technical aspects of security, such as encryption, in your discussion
(ii)Elaborate on the opinion and arguments that some individuals or human rights advocates might have, again including technical security aspects.
(iii)Give your own view on this question, based on your personal code of ethics, and technical knowledge of computer security.
